Top Ten Tuesday is currently hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is Authors Who Have a Fun Social Media Presence.
Gail Carriger’s Instagram is full of delightful tea and Victorian aesthetics. She also posts fun video chats.
Ursula Vernon/T. Kingfisher tweets about all kinds of stuff, including weird niche things that make for a wild ride you never know what to expect from. I didn’t think I’d be interested in the drama of human/chicken interactions BUT HERE WE ARE.
Catherynne M. Valente’s writing skill shows up in her concise, exquisite way of putting things in tweets. She’s one of the very few people whose occasional tweets about their kid I not only tolerate but enjoy.
Seanan McGuire’s Twitter is full of DnD and cats and general kick-ass nerdiness.
Kiersten White is HILARIOUS. I didn’t expect that after reading her intense Vlad Dracul retelling, but hoo boy I have laughed out loud often from her account.
Jeph Jacques tweets some bizarre stuff, and his uncompromising way of handling trolls and bigots is frankly therapeutic.
Samantha Shannon is a huge dragon and history nerd as well as a feminist. Her random facts and retweets are themed accordingly.
Shira Glassman has a wonderful knack for finding and boosting information about Jewish, queer, and other less mainstream resources.
These last two might be slightly cheating since their social media presence is mostly a mirror for their product, but Catana Chetwynd and Sarah Andersen post their adorable, incredibly relatable comics on Instagram.
Who do you follow on social media?
Shira Glassman sounds like someone I’d really like following.

I’ve seen most of these authors mentioned on other lists today, so you’re not the only one who loves them on social media! I’m glad they keep you entertained 🙂
Happy TTT!

The only one I follow currently on this list is Seanan McGuire, but boy do you know how to sell these authors. Human/chicken interactions, you say? Color me intrigued! Also, I am always down for dragon talk. Checking some of these out for sure. Thanks for the list!
Here’s my TTT post.
